Bombed Afrika Korps hangar



Axis Powers air equipment and installations lie in ruins at Castel Benito Airdrome in Tripoli after a U.S. bombing. As German Field Marshal Erwin Rommel's Afrika Korps retreated through Libya and Tripoli to the Tunisian coast, it was hounded by U.S. Army Air Force bombers.
