Washakie, Shoshone chief



Washakie was a Shoshone chief and representative for both the Shoshoni and Bannock peoples. He negotiated the surrender of the Green River Valley in eastern Utah and southern Wyoming, which provided for the construction of the Union Pacific Railway.
