Warsaw Ghetto Uprising



German soldiers herd Jewish civilians along the street during the destruction of the Warsaw Ghetto in Poland, 1943. After information regarding the fate of Jews deported to concentration camps leaked back to Warsaw, the remaining inhabitants of the Ghetto staged an armed uprising against the German occupiers. After about a month of fighting, the resistance was quashed.
