Victor Emmanuel III



Victor Emmanuel III was king of Italy from 1900 until his abdication in 1946. During his reign, Victor Emmanuel established a liberal monarchy, supporting social and economic reform in Italy. Yet his chaotic foreign policies and misguided support for the fascist regime of Benito Mussolini ultimately led to the demise of Italy's monarchy.
