J. Robert Oppenheimer



Most famous for his close involvement with the development of the atomic bomb, J. Robert Oppenheimer was also a major influence on the quantum physics of his day. He was director of the prestigious Institute for Advanced Study for two decades. Oppenheimer's brilliant career was marred by government allegations regarding his political affiliations and patriotic loyalty, although his name was later cleared.
